Well we closed today on our first house! It was a whirl wind of a process, but we can finally call ourselved homeowners. We began the process in January of 2008, and after making an unsuccessful offer on a house in March we decided to postpone our search for another 6 months. We began looking again late July with little luck. As we approached the end of August we knew our time was running very short. We had to turn in our notice that we would not be renewing our apartment on August 30, but did not want to do so if we were not going to be able to buy a house.
On August 19 we hired a new realtor, made an offer on the evening of the 21st, and the offer was accepted on the 22nd. We were told several times that we were the low offer, and that our offer would not be accepted. However, by the grace of God and the wonderful hard work of our Realtor, the sellers decided to accept our offer! We had a closing date set for September 2, which only left 6 business days to make everything happen. Thanks to the hard work of many individuals we were able to pull it off!
We feel so blessed to have been able to buy a house, and we cannot wait to see the great things that God is going to do there. We continue to pray that he will use us in a big way through our new home!
Thank you all for your love and support throughout the process!
Love,
Shelby and Kasey
